The Tamil Nadu Government is strengthening sports infrastructure and encouraging participation through district-level tournaments, coaching camps, and improved training facilities, benefiting athletes from Cuddalore district.
Cuddalore continues to produce talented footballers, including Indumathi Kathiresan and Sumithra Kamaraj, who have represented India at the international level and continue to inspire young players in the district.
Several talented athletes from Cuddalore qualified for higher-level district and state competitions after impressive performances in athletics, kabaddi, volleyball, and football tournaments held earlier this year. The competitions aim to identify emerging sporting talent from rural and urban areas.
Cuddalore hosted the State-Level Inter Sports Hostel Taekwondo Championship under the guidance of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. Athletes from different districts competed for medals, promoting martial arts among school and college students.
The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu successfully conducted block-level sports competitions across Cuddalore district. Students and young athletes participated in athletics, football, volleyball, kabaddi, and other games as part of the state’s grassroots sports development program.
